The UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), in collaboration with the Federation of Accounting Professions (TFAC), the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Thai Listed Companies Association, jointly hosted the event "Building Capacity in Thailand: Implementing IFRS Sustainability Disclosures" on February 16 - 17, 2026, at the Grande Centre Point Lumphini.
The event aimed to enhance the understanding of sustainability-related financial disclosure standards among Thai listed companies and accounting professionals, focusing on the fundamental principles of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, with insightful sessions led by experts from the IFRS Foundation and Finman Group. A key highlight was the Jurisdictional Roadmap Panel, which explored the opportunities and challenges of adopting these global standards within the Thai context. This discussion featured diverse perspectives from key stakeholders, including both the business sector and the investment community.
Additionally, the event showed real-world experiences through case studies presented by representatives from leading organizations, including the Minor International PCL (MINT) and the Siam Cement PCL (SCG). With over 200 participants in attendance, the event also provided a collaborative platform for preparers, sustainability reporters, and accounting professionals to exchange views and insights during the Table-Top Discussion sessions. This interactive format allowed for a deeper dive into the practicalities of sustainability disclosure in Thailand.
