The Federation of Accounting Professions (TFAC) continues its mission to strengthen the Thai accounting profession through active engagement at an international level by sending representatives to key regional meetings. TFAC participated in the 113th ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS) held from 15 - 16 June 2026. The delegation was led by Dr. Janet Maneenak, Executive Director, together with Ms. Renee Palakajorsak, Academic Specialist, and Ms. Napat Liamsomboon, Foreign Service Officer. The team participated as official TFAC representatives to exchange views with government officials and professional accountancy organizations from ASEAN member states.
During the meeting, participants deliberated on the draft ASEAN CPA Mobility Framework, which aims to enhance the mobility of accounting professionals within the region. This initiative focuses on linking ASEAN CPA status directly with local membership categories in host countries to facilitate seamless cross-border practices, minimize regulatory restrictions, and expand employment opportunities for accountants across the ASEAN community.
Furthermore, the committee discussed strategies to elevate the accounting profession in response to digital advancements and sustainable development. A strategic plan was outlined for the development of the ASEAN CPA e-Certificate system. This digital initiative is designed to streamline the verification of professional qualifications and authentication processes, with an official regional rollout targeted by 2027. The 114th ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS) Meeting is scheduled to take place in October 2026 to continue advancing regional cooperation on the mobility and development of the accounting profession.
